Mexican Food Recipes - Authentic Southwestern Cuisine

I absolutely love Mexican food – I can’t get enough of the stuff. I’m constantly on the lookout for good Mexican food recipes; whether it’s enchilada recipes, (including, of course, chicken enchilada recipes), tamale recipes, tacos, burritos, chile rellenos … I could go on and on! But I’m not talking just any Mexican food recipes, mind you – I’m especially interested in recipes for authentic New Mexico style Mexican food. In fact, I’ve been diagnosed as having Hatch green chile running through my veins. (Just kidding.)

Admittedly, I'm a bit of a Mexican food snob - but once you’ve eaten authentic Mexican food in New Mexico - and particularly in my "hometown" of Las Cruces, everything (and everywhere) else pales by comparison. I say "hometown" because technically, I wasn't born there - yet, together with many family members - I grew up in Las Cruces. Quite frankly, we consider it the Mexican food capital of the U.S., if not the entire world.

Yes, we're biased, but this opinion is shared by many others who are familiar with ‘Cruces (as it's affectionately known, for short) and its incomparable culinary delights. (At the risk of offending residents in other parts of the state, there's quite a bit of great food to be had in other parts of New Mexico as well.) And what do you suppose my family does when we reunite in New Mexico? Eat, of course - at all of our favorite Mexican food haunts. We also share our best Mexican food recipes.

Well, it just wouldn't be fair to keep all these spicy, scrumptious delights to ourselves, now would it? Of course not - and that, I assume, is why you're here. Prepare yourself to discover recipes for some of the best, most authentic New Mexico style food you've ever had. Whether you've never prepared, nor eaten "the real thing," or are more than familiar with this one-of-a-kind style of Mexican food, I promise you won't be disappointed. You'll get lots of great Mexican food recipes that are fun and easy to prepare - and now that my blog is up (see link above) here's your chance to contribute your own recipes.

By the way, here's a cookbook with some very good Mexican food recipes. I haven't tried all of them (yet!) and they wouldn't all be classified as authentic New Mexico style food, but this collection still gets a "thumbs up" from me. If you decide to try it, please let me know what you think - just as with your recipes, you can now post your comments to my blog. Thanks in advance!
